My collection includes bags, purses, cushions, throws and wall prints which are inspired by military history. The designs are developed from personal photographs of formal uniform, combat attire, armoury, medals and medal ribbons won for bravery during the Zulu War and World Wars I & II. They are designed to celebrate the courage and bravery of soldiers at war. Thus these practical items transgress their ordinary function and bring meaning into our homes and everyday lives. My aim is to produce unique sophisticated and contemporary designs, which demonstrate the ideas and concepts within my area of research.
