I primarily use wool, a material with a strong Welsh association, which I then felt. I am endeavouring to create pieces that are evocative of both Wales and myself. I have developed a technique of making a felt 'sandwich' of multi coloured wool, which is then cut and stitched to reveal strata of colour reminiscent of rocks and mountains and the layers of heritage and memories within. Some pieces have been stitched into, referencing the collections of textile work at the Museum of Welsh Life at St Fagan's, recalling samplers and fragments of memories.
